Renters Insurance


GRGP strongly advises/encourages/recommends that tenant(s) purchase renter’s insurance to cover any loss of their personal property and liability in case of accidents.

If a tenant(s) doesn’t/don’t have renter’s insurance they could lose everything.  The landlord/owner/property manager isn’t held responsible.  In fact, even in incidents where/when the tenant didn’t cause; the tenant was responsible for replacing their possessions.  Worst case, if the tenant(s) is/are responsible for an accident that causes damage to the property, losses to others, and/or injury to an individual, they can be held liable.  The Owner’s Insurance Policy does NOT cover tenant’s personal property, food spoilage, or costs associated with loss of use of the property.  Tenant(s) should verify that their renter’s insurance policy covers such events; but not limited to.


Tenant(s) should:

  • Obtain Renter’s Insurance:
    • Effective as of: Date of Possession
    • Duration: As long as tenant occupies the premises/property
    • Coverage: Limits to cover your Assets and Liabilities


Renter’s Insurance replaces the things that matter to you, such as:

  • Clothing
  • Furniture
    • Gear (Climbing, Hiking, Skiing, etc.)
    • Entertainment: Audio, Computer, TVs, etc.
    • Beds, Chairs, Couches, Tables, etc.


Renter’s Insurance protects you and your guests from:

  • Bodily Injury Claims
  • Property Damage Claims


Who/What:

  • Candle tips over or Cooking/Grill fire that causes damage to house
    • Damage repair is covered by Home Owner Policy
      However, tenant may be liable for costs.
    • Tenant belongings are replaced by Renter’s Insurance
  • Broken water pipe or clogged drain causes damage
    • Water Pipe repair is covered by Home Owner Policy
    • Tenant belongings are replaced by Renter’s Insurance


Coverage/Protection up to the limits that tenant(s) select, so you feel confident that all you and your family have worked for is not at risk. Renter’s insurance policy protects you and your family against bodily injury and property damage claims and litigation up to the limits that you select.
